Drug rememdies

In health issues there are many drugs prescribed and used. Many are also bought over the counter, Some work, some do not.
Many remedies cause more health issues. In my case, I was using an OTC sinus medication. It contains pseudoephedrine.
Now we know this is used in making meth, for illegal purposes.
It can also cause abnormal heartbeats. But that is not on the label, as a warning.
To make a long story short, I was taking it, and one night, I began to have an irregular heartbeat. When it didn't stop after an hour or so, I went to the ER.
I was finally told I was having atrial fibrillation, which is common, but can be deadly, most likely caused by the sinus med.
In Afib, as it is called, the upper chambers of the heart do not beat, they quiver. This can lead to formation of blood clots in the lower chambers since the blood is not being pumped out as it should be.
Now, I have to take a medication called Sotolol, after the 2nd long bout with it.
The Doctors wanted to put me on Coumadin a blood thinner, which is also the principal ingredient in rat poison.
This is obviously to prevent blood clots from forming.
I didn't think I needed that and talked them out of it. I said I would take a full strength aspirin, which has shown to be very effective, also.
So that is where I am now. Things are working well, but I can not have anything with caffeine in it, no coffee, tea, soda or chocolate.
