The gun and flashlight

This happened to us one night, in the middle of the night.
We have a cabinet shop about 300 yards from the house, in our cow pasture, just up the road and across from us.
We had had a utility trailer stolen from our shop, that was chained to a post on the side of it.
One night a few weeks later, my husband sat up in the bed and said "I think somebody just kicked in the door at the shop". Up we jumped, I didn't dress, just threw on my robe and house shoes.
He put on some pants, without a belt, his coat and grabbed a flashlight. Said to me, "Get the shotgun and some shells".
I did this, and we were out the door in 2 minutes, flat.
In the pickup and up the road and across. Got to the gate, which was now locked after the theft. No one was in sight.
Climbed over the gate, my husband clutching the flashlight in one hand and his pants in the other.
I handed him the shotgun and we went to the door. Door was firmly locked.
But, when I got a good look at him holding up his pants, and the flashlight, with the gun under his arm, I started laughing and thought, "Oh, if we only had a video of this".
If he had actually had to shoot the gun, he would have had to drop either his pants or the flashlight. |

Thank you, Frederick. It is still funny every time I think of it. If we had only had a video of it, we could surely have won on America's funniest videos. :)
F-U-N-N-Y!! If you do an enactment of this, you could put it on America's Funniest Videos. If only you would have had a video camera .. of course that was the last thing on your mind at the time!
